Inspired by Roshi Robert Aitken and Thich Nhat Hanh, I’ve begun composing simple verses on my other website. These verses are to recite when doing everyday jobs, particularly when I’m computing. Most are for programming, but this one is about wise speech online. It’s based on Oren Jay Sofer’s teaching in Say What You Mean.
When about to converse online
I vow with all beings
to come from full presence and care,
attending to what truly matters.
With deep gratitude, I dedicate this small verse to these three Buddhist teachers, who have each made a profound difference in my life.
